II. Then, a young bare-nosed wombat, covered in mange, in the middle of the lane at 4 pm. She was blind – the work of the sarcoptic mange. She could hear (and no doubt smell) me as I coaxed her off the bitumen and back into the long grass. With the mange taking hold of her small body, she is losing all means of self-defense. Another quantum entanglement.
